I will be completing my PhD in biomedical engineering later this year and am looking to find a job that would sponsor a HSP visa. I’m currently not interested in a career in academia, although I’ve seen some well-paying positions on JREC-IN that are probably the safest bet for me. Having passed N1 along with professional level speaking, I’m wondering if it’d be worth applying to regular industry jobs. Specifically:
1. Would I be competitive against Japanese nationals for 中途採用 industry jobs?
2. Or would I have better chances working here in the US first and then getting transferred?
3. Or should I just take a postdoc/researcher position first and then apply for jobs after?
Thanks in advance for your advice and feedback!
