As the title suggests. I have an offer to move the family to Kyoto. We currently live in Shanghai. I’ll be taking the family on a trip to explore Kyoto and fall in love prior to making the decision.
We will spend 3 nights in early April likely depending on visas etc.
I will spare no expense for this trip as it’s imperative they have a great time. Could you please help me find activities and restaurants that showcase the best side of Kyoto? Definitely we want to eat great Japanese seafood, experience local culture, maybe do a little class of some kind like pottery or something else where my wife and kids can enjoy making something they can bring back home with them. Some light shopping of nice local items, maybe stationery, pottery or similar nice items, old nice preserved neighborhoods etc. kids are 2 and 6.
It’s hard for me to come up with ideas as I’ve never been before. Any ideas are helpful. We will be staying at a place called The Thousand Kyoto but expect to move around a bit. I am not sure what neighborhood it is in. Is the location decent: Shimogyo-ku Higashishiokojicho 570, Kyoto, 600-8216
