Is moving to Japan a realistic goal for my family?

My husband is a US citizen born to Japanese citizen parents. He had a Japanese passport back in the day.

Husband is a tattoo artist, so I worry about him getting steady work out there. He’s open to other work. He does not have an advanced degree. He is fluent in Japanese.

I’m a US citizen with a master’s in English and a TESOL. I work as an instructional designer. I’m slowly learning Japanese but I’d say I’m at a low elementary level at this point. I have an extensive background as an ESL instructor, but I’d rather stick with L & D or something related.

He has family in Japan and we both love it there. We’d love to move to Chiba. I’d rather raise my children there. We have one and want one more.

What are the odds we can make this happen? And what steps can we take to make this happen? Neither of us has a criminal history. Our goal is making the move within 10 years. I appreciate any insight. Thank you 🙂
