Hi all.
Yesterday I posted [this reply](https://www.reddit.com/r/JapanFinance/comments/1aknxde/comment/kp97cwy/?context=3) on another thread explaining that I use a spreadsheet I made myself to track my income and expenses and to have an **rough** idea of how much I need to invest monthly to reach my goal when I retire.
A large number of people asked me for the spreadsheet, so instead of replying on the thread I’m posting it here in case more people are interested.
[Here’s the spreadsheet](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1xS0HCHbE4FGkJiseh_WItJKmqeH3_OqWB6l6sqUFd70/edit?usp=sharing) with a bit of example data in it. Make your own copy and feel free to modify it to your specs.
[Here’s a short document describing how to use it](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1jnemKC3U_dRLQj_AL7tjY64tLW6rIqDTdBH18UE3h7o/edit?usp=sharing).
If you have any questions feel free to ask me, but note that:
* **I’m not a financial advisor.** I’m just an IT guy who likes spreadsheets. If you want financial advice you’re better off talking to a professional.
* The expected yearly growth in the table may or may not reflect reality. Maybe there’s a WW3 in the future and all your investments become worthless.
* This is specially true for cryptocurrencies: I don’t think they will stick around for that long, war or no war. Technology moves quickly.
I hope you find the document useful.
