Hi all, I’ve been trying to find a natural onsen hot spring within day trip distance of Tokyo.
Having been in the city 5 days now, I’ve visited a few public baths and I’ve found that the baths are always very shallow (knee height). I understand this is probably traditional, however it doesn’t allow me to participate. I have a condition that affects my spinal cord from a botched medical procedure, which prohibits me from bending over or sitting on flat surfaces. Simply put, the shallow baths don’t work for me.
Does anyone know of any natural onsens that have waist-deep water? Or are they all built to have shallow basins?
