I’m a 22 year old Australian about to graduate undergrad and I’ve been offered a graduate chemist position in Hachioji for 4.4M yen.
I am under the impression that as a bachelor in suburban Tokyo, I should be fine with this kind of salary.
Not starting a family anytime soon, but if that time comes, I think wage growth by that age is realistic in my field/ at that company.
May not be able to save a whole lot but if I can maintain my current savings and slowly add to it in case I need to move back, that should be nice.
