Moving through a spouse visa

Hello everyone, sorry if the terms I use aren’t the exact ones since English isn’t my first language.

My husband was accepted for a MEXT scholarship, which is really nice because the government helps him out with making a bank account and figuring out some of the most inconvenient stuff about moving to Japan, while I have to go through some of that from zero. We’ve done a lot of research before but there is some stuff I’ve had trouble finding information on. Do I need to have officially translated documents like my undergraduate certificate if I want to apply for a student Visa upgrade from dependent and enroll in a university?

And also we know he needs to get my CoE while he’s already in Japan, but I know they request proof of income as well as any savings. Our savings are in our local currency and in a local bank in our country. How can we show those funds to the Japanese authorities? Would we translate those and convert the funds to JPY? Anyone navigated this before?

Thank you all very much in advance for any help you can give us!

Edit: Some spelling mistakes.
