I traveled to japan for 4 weeks in autumn 2019. With my boyfriend, we visited Tokyo with an excursion to Nikko and another to Fujikawaguchiko, then the Japanese Alps, then the Fukuyama region with Okayama, Shimanami Kaido, then the Kii peninsula with Koyasan, the temples on kumano kodo and then Nara, Uji, Kyoto and Osaka.
I’d like to come back in the spring of 2024 (yes, I know we’re running out of time!!!).
What do you think of my itinerary, especially the Kyushu part?

04/11: Stopover at Ureshino onsen, then visit to Yûtoku Inari shrine. End of day at Tara for its floating torii and/or departure for Nagasaki… Overnight Nagasaki
04/12: Visit Nagasaki (Spectacle Bridge, Peace Park, Bomb Museum, Glover Garden, etc.). Evening on Mount Inasa. Night Nagasaki
04/13: Morning at Gunkanjima (a must-see) and city tour of Nagasaki (Dutch and Chinese quarters, Dejima, Confucius temple, etc.). Night Nagasaki
04/14: Excursion to Unzen onsen. Visit to the underworld and toy museum. Cable car to Mount Unzen. Relaxation in an onsen. Overnight Shibamaya
04/15: Departure for Kumamoto. City tour (Kumamoto castle, Suizen-ji garden, etc.). Overnight Kumamoto
04/16: Departure for Kagoshima. City tour (Sengan-en Garden, Shiroyama Obsersavory) Overnight Kagoshima
04/17: Sakurajima volcano and city tour. Overnight Kagoshima
04/18: Day trip to Ibusuki. Overnight Kagoshima
04/19: Day trip to Chiran with visit to samurai houses and kamikaze museum. Overnight Kagoshima
04/20: Visit to Udo Shrine and the feudal town of Obi. Overnight around
04/21: Drive along the coast. Visit Aoshima then Miyazaki. Overnight Miyazaki
04/22: Departure for Takachiho. Visit of the village (station, Amano Iwato shrine, Amano Yasugawara cave, etc.). Yokagura night show. Overnight Takachiho
04/23: Morning at Kunimigaoka Sea of Clouds and Takachiho Gorge. Departure for Aso. Overnight in Aso.
04/24: Day at Mount Aso, between volcano, caldera and town. Overnight Aso

04/29: Visit to Kitakyushu wisteria.
04/30: Back home!
I will possibly remove 1 day in Tokyo and 1 day on Miyajima to come back on the 28th.
