Hello everyone,
I’m currently in search of a nursery/daycare facility in the Shugakuin vicinity that is welcoming to those who may not be fluent in Japanese, particularly in terms of communication. If anyone has insights or experiences with such foreigner-friendly establishments in the area, your sharing would be greatly appreciated. Additionally, I’d be grateful for any advice on key factors to consider or be mindful of in this process, as I’m navigating this for the first time.
Thank you very much in advance.

FAcilities for ages 3-5 include Shugakuin Hoikuen [https://shugakuin-kodomo.com/](https://shugakuin-kodomo.com/), a licensed daycare with a long history in the neighborhood, and newcomer Kids Duo focused on English, unlicensed, with short history. https://www.kidsduo.com/classrooms/detail/1306/
A little south on a hill near the baptist hospital is “yama no yochien” (not sure if that is its real name, but everybody calls it that)—anyway, both my kids went there and had great experiences and caring teachers…
Kikunohana is a pretty nice yoshien in the north with bus pickup. Lovely natural environment next to the mountains. Lots of kids though. Welcoming to foreign speakers.
