I’m currently going through some lists of vocabulary recommended for JLPT N3, filtering them a bit and adding the words to my vocabulary in Anki.
But I’m having a bit of a dilemma. The lists usually include words like 泳ぎ. When I’m reading manga and I see a word like 泳ぎ, I know its the stem of the verb 泳ぐ used like a noun so I can easily translate it in my head. But on the other hand I’m thinking that while listening to some Japanese conversation and not seeing the kanji + kana, I might not recognize the word.
Do you store the verb stem nouns in your vocabulary or not?
