Went for an early morning stroll on Saturday, around 6:30am in Shibuya. Streets were completely empty except for a very long line of people at the Meiji-jingumae intersection.
Looked like people spent whole night too, judging by their dress and camp chairs.
The line’s head was at 35.669445,139.706245
At first I thought they queued for some fashion store but by 11am the line was gone.
What was it for?

People do this for Pachinkos. They do this for ramen. They even do this for StarBucks. It’s just Japan.
New sale of something probably, and probably all sold out by 11
Fanatics being fans.
Should’ve waited around to see so you can report back
I don’t know but there we helicopters flying around very early this morning. Before 6:am.
This sounds like more than a sale…hmm.
It’s the line for [Supreme Harajuku](https://maps.app.goo.gl/bjJ3YV37W7d5u5Yt9). They sometimes start sales for those in the line with a pre-registration number from 9:30, so yes by 11 most if not all of the line will be gone, especially if some items sell out.
It was for me, I was giving free hugs.
It was supreme, they were releasing the Supreme x North Face jackets which happens once per clothing season.
OP using coordinates instead of landmarks… Have yet to see a Saturday morning when there wasn’t a line before the intersection of Meiji-dori and Omote-sando. Sometimes there’s a shorter one by Atmos.
How much did it go for at the store
99% of times it’s a Pachinko place.
This is the time that it wasn’t.
Resellers
It doesn’t answer your question, but whenever I see a big unexplained queue, I ask someone in line what it’s for. You find out about some cool hobbies/interests that way.
