Hey, so I’m going to Japan as an exchange student. I’ll be there for a few months, I’ll have my zairyu I believe from the airport.
Thing is I need to make a small payment into my universities Japanese bank account. I’d like to avoid 3rd party international transfers as they take too long and don’t have good reviews from my friends.
So my question is, I’ll have cash, I’ll also have my universitiy’s bank account information. Can I just walk into any bank and make the deposit? Do I specifically walk into the bank that my university has a account with?
Ps I also need to include my name and student ID number in English with the deposit, is that possible?
Back home you can make a deposit into any account, you just need to have a valid ID on you and the payees details.
