Random question: I sent a birthday letter to a friend, but as it’s supposed to be a surprise, I didn’t ask for an apartment number. I think most buildings only have numbers on the mail boxes, tho and no names. How likely is a success delivery?
The remaining address is 100% correct, so the delivery person should make it all the way to the right set of mail boxes. If I’m lucky, the family might receive some other mail on the same day, so the delivery person could just cross check. But what if I’m not that lucky… are they gonna make an effort to find the right mail box, e.g asking neighbors or waiting for another letter to arrive for the same name/building?
I read JPP is quite good at figuring out missing/wrong data. And Japan has it’s reputation for going the extra mile of service. So I do have some hope this is somehow gonna work out.
Does anybody know where to buy fresh or dried ginseng root?
What are people’s recommendations for laundry delivery services and/or house cleaning services in Tokyo? I’ve found WASH&FOLD and Taskaji but wondering if there’s any other good services I’m missing.
Can you send an Apple Watch in for a battery replacement to Apple or do you have to go into an Apple Store? My nearest one is like an hour drive away.
House turned five and apparently needed to be sprayed again with termite/pest control.
Is it really needed every five years?
Asked around my colleagues and most of them haven’t done it.
Are, overtime, gas stoves any cheaper than electric ones?
Thinking about switching from electric to gas cuz some of those gas stove tops seem pretty nice.
I have propane tanks for my gas supply if that affects anything.
Anyone else going to the Wednesday gig in Shibuya on (surprise surprise) Wednesday night?
Electrical outlet help needed.
I need to connect my microwave up to a power point with earth cable. I need to run extension cords for both the power and earth to connect it as the only available points/outlets are too far away from where the microwave is placed.
The only available outlets/power points are:
1) the one above where the fridge is plugged in. E.G its a standard vehicle outlet with space to connect two grounded appliances. The fridge is using one of them. There is one spot free. Can I use the microwave in the same outlet as the fridge or is this going to overload things and cause a fault or trigger a safety switch/breaker?
2) a T-shaped outlet with ground available that has a label stating 20A – 125V. Is this outputting too much power for the microwave/a standard Japanese appliance/extention coard or power board (aka OA TAP)? I don’t want to blow it up like plugging a 100V Japanese appliance into a 240V Australian outlet would do.

Sorry for my ignorance … being from Australia I haven’t had to worry about earth wires, ampage volts, watts since electrical science class in High School over 20 years ago. We just plug everything over there without a second thought. I’m probably overthinking and over complicating things but with power points/extension cords listing maximum supported capacity / appliance types and all these earth wires and powerpoint output variants I’m a bit confused. I don’t want to blow appliances up or burn down the building by plugging my microwave in wrong.
