I’ve been living in Tokyo for around 5-6 years now, and my passport that has my visa in it is expiring next year. I will get a new passport in the next month because I have just gotten my first job out of uni and I’ll need to change my visa, and having less than a year left on my passport probably won’t look good when I do that. I have the option to remove my middle name when I file for a new passport, I’m wondering if I can do this without any problems arising. I never use my middle name so I don’t really care to have it while I live here.
The only issue I can think of would be my bank has my middle name and also my current Zairyuu card, (but I’ll be getting a new one in a couple months) and I guess my University diploma? Should I remove my middle name on my new passport or will it cause too many problems to bother with?
