Diploma vs Degree? 3 year vs 4 year degree?

I am looking to move to Japan to be a teacher after I graduate. I am currently at university pursuing my BA in English and History, and a Bachelor of Education. That said, university my university is in a declining state at the moment, and I am looking at my options to potentially cut back on the time to move. I am in Canada, where there is a difference between diploma’s (which come from Colleges) and degrees (which come from Universities). Does Japanese immigration look at these two things differently, or are they co-equal as long as they have been completed? Second, if I do stay at my university, there is a three year degree option that more students have been pursuing. A 4 year degree in Canada is called a Bachelor with Honours, while a 3 year degree is just a degree. On paper, the only difference is the “with Honours” title the extra year, but does this reflect differently when immigrating to Japan (tldr. could I still move there with a 3 year degree instead of a 4 year degree)?
