Taking a mortgage for the land in Tokyo, the bank mentioned the property ownership registration needs a name in katakana. This is somewhat worrisome given the official zairyu card only has romaji characters and I don’t think I’m “officially” the katakana version of my zaryu card name. How is the association of romaji with katakana maintained? If I’m to register this in my kuyakusho with my inkan, how is this preserved when you move to another ku? Feels somewhat scary to have land registered to the name which does not appear officially anywhere…
