Hello, I am a US citizen,
I will move to Japan this May after my studies and get married there. However, from what I know and if I am correct, usually foreigners are supposed to wait for their already-spouse to file a COE to get permission for long-term entry. Would I have to leave the country and re-enter on the spousal visa, or could I get some sort of adjustment of status?
Any suggestions would be appreciated, thank you!
