Process of working in Japan from abroad

Hi,

I’m curious to know what is the process like getting a job in Japan while u are abroad. The steps or flow, for those who have experienced this.

First of all, I have received my 内定 thru email and I have accepted the offer. I was expecting to get the 内定通知書 (letter of employment) to be signed next. But now the company is preparing for my CoE. May I know what’s the correct order for the employment process?

Is it like CoE → VISA → employment letter → buying tix and enter Japan?

Or should I actually be getting the employment letter first? I’m kinda confused because I just wanna know if there’s already a legal bind here. I’m prepared to resign from my current job so I’m afraid that they can take back the 内定 I accepted.

Also, since I need to find my own place to stay, should I start searching for it from here (online) or do I start by searching for it after I landed in Japan? How difficult and how long is the process to find a place to stay? I speak Japanese and have some local friends who are willing to help as well but I don’t want to depend on them if it’s not necessary.

Thank you!
