I’ll be moving to Japan next week and I need to open a bank account soon after I get there to transfer funds from my US account. All of the banks I’ve looked at so far require 3 to 6 months residency to open an account.
I do have 2 bank accounts in Japan that are probably still open from when I lived there about 20 years ago but I don’t have any of the original account information.
Any recommendations on particular banks that are possibly more flexible or how to possibly reactivate my old accounts with limited info?
