I know all the recommendations are to get to Inari first thing in the morning to avoid the crowds. But, that just doesn’t work with our limited schedule. My husband and I went in 2016 but this time have a 6yo with us. We won’t be walking all the way up, probably just an hour at the shrine and checking out the vendors. My kiddo really wants to buy some little fox things so we wouldn’t want to go at 8 and have to stay 2 hours anyways.
Wondering if anyone has direct firsthand experience of going in the afternoon (2pm week day). This will be end of March, so already busy season.
We don’t mind crowds, but we don’t want trample unsafe shoulder to shoulder crowds.
I’d hate to miss it altogether, but afternoon is our only shot.
