EDIT: Full refund. Thanks to a couple commenters who convinced me to drive the hour back there. I had taken a picture of the original “scratches” label and I think showing that helped (they also tested it before saying they’d refund me).
Edit 2: the original note also said HDMI worked, so I’m sure that probably helped them decide to refund me.

I bought a computer monitor labeled junk with the note of “scratches and sunburn” (for 8,800円), I had them test in the store for like 30 seconds and it looked fine to me besides two little scratches.
Got home and the screen basically freaks out and is full of digital garbage. It only displays properly for a few seconds intermittently if it’s at just the right angle or if I tap it a few times…then goes right back to garbage.
Will they take it back or am I essentially a 万 out of luck?
