Hello everyone,
It seems like there are knowledgeable people here who might be able to help me out.
I am a Japanese national and have been employed by a Japanese company for over a decade, during which I have experienced no difficulties in filing my income tax declarations. However, I recently entered into a contract with a foreign company that lacks any presence in Japan. I am conducting work for this company within Japan, though it does not offer services within the country nor to any Japanese entities.
Upon consulting a friend facing a similar situation, I was informed that the salary I receive from this foreign company, deposited into a foreign currency account held in a Japanese bank, is not subject to Japanese taxation.
Could someone verify the accuracy of this statement? If it is incorrect, I would appreciate guidance on the proper procedures to follow.
Thank you in advance for any insights you may provide.
