Hi! I’d love input on this itinerary. We will be coming from 6 days in Tokyo/Hakone so will not be jetlagged by this point. We leave for Osaka early on the 31st so I’ve left that off.
**Questions**
\- Are we missing any key areas? I know I do not have the Golden Pavilion on here. It’s a bit out of the way and my husband wanted to skip it. Open to doing it if it’s better to do than Arashiyama area. We may or may not do Nishiki market. Is it worth it if we go around 4ish? Our hotel is a 1 min walk from it.
\- Do we need reservations for weeknight/weekend dinners in Pontocho Alley/Gion, etc, as well as lunch meals in Nara and Arashiyama? It’s a busy week with schools being out.
**ITINERARY**
**Tues March 26th**
* Arrive around 6:30pm from Hakone (Conbini dinner on shinkansen)
* Explore Kiyomizu-Dera Temple & Gion at night
**Wed March 27th**
* Early train or taxi to Arashiyama Bamboo Forest (Arrive 7ish)
* Quick Breakfast 7:45ish
* Tenryu-Ji & Gardens (8:30am)
* Monkey Park (9:30am)
* Lunch (11am – do we need a reservation?)
* Explore shops/village. Maybe go to Adashino Nenbutsuji Temple.
* Head back to hotel by train around 2ish
* Omakase dinner at 5pm (reservation made)
* Early bed time.
**Thu March 28th**
* Fushimi Inari hike (start no later than 6am and will bring conbini breakfast for a picnic)
* Explore area village
* Lunch in the area
* Fushimi sake district sake tour & tasting (1:30pm – 4:30pm)
* Pontocho Alley dinner/walk around? (Do we need reservations for this area?)
**Fri March 29th**
* Early train to Nara Park. (Aim to arrive 7 or 8am)
* Explore area garden/shrines/temples
* Lunch
* Explore village
* Limited express back to Kyoto (departs 3:30pm)
* Nishiki Market (maybe)
* Freshen up and head to Philosopher’s Path for exploring & maybe dinner.
**Sat March 30th**
* Early to Kiyomizudera, Sannezaka Path, Ninenzaka. (7am)
* Geisha/Samurai photoshoot (11am 1:30pm)
* Kitano Odori (4pm)
* Dinner in area
* Nijo Castle (Evening Sakura Festival)
