Travelling in Japan for 2 weeks with kids (youngest is 3), on trains.
We’ve got most of the trip planned, but struggling with finding the best way to see the cherry blossoms around 10th April. From
the forecast, they will be finished in Tokyo by then, so we would have to travel north. We will have 2 days between Tokyo and travelling to Takayama.
Would really appreciate advice on what would be best:
– Day trip to Sendai just for the cherry blossoms? Is this doable or too much? Worth it?
– Tokyo – Niigata (stay one night) – Kanazawa – Takayama. But the train from Niigata to Kanazawa takes a long time – 3.5 hours.
– any other options?
Thanks!
