I’m in Japan with an “Engineer/Specialist in Humanities/International Services” status of residence. I’m also an artist with tons of (Japanese) artist friends. They always ask me if I want to put my art up for sale in galleries or participate in doujin events. But I’m never sure what the legality of selling art as a non-citizen would be. Do any of you know any non-citizens who have done anything like an art exhibit or Comiket and how that has worked out with their residence status?
