How has it been? I’m currently looking at several job opportunities, most gaishikei, but one of them is a nikkei. Everyone I’ve met is great (including the shacho) and the work is interesting. (Related to marketing and trade) I am still waiting to see the salary offered. The current negatives are zero remote work/long commute and the fact that I’m the first foreigner to join the company.
I’m fluent in Japanese, so that’s not an issue. I’d be in charge of Marketing in English speaking markets, communication with trade partners and occasionally be required to help assist on business trips/during client meetings. All in all it’s interesting work where I can utilize my skills etc.
I’d like to ask people about their experience working as the only foreigner at a Japanese company. Give it to me straight!
