Feasible Plan?

First off, some basic information, if it matters. 20F, USA, holding an AA degree from a US college and currently a year and a half into a bachelor’s program. I know basically no Japanese except the kana charts and a couple basic statements and words.

My “plan”, if it can be called that, would be to wrap up the classes I’m currently enrolled in, apply (and hopefully be accepted to) a Japanese language school (which I believe would be considered a transfer, as one may transfer from one college to another in the US? I’m not sure though, so any info would be greatly appreciated), find applicable scholarships, the school would offer a COE, I would move to Japan, immediately apply for a student visa, then apply for a job once obtaining the proper exception for my visa. From here, once learning Japanese at the language school, I would hopefully enroll into a bachelor’s or integrated bachelor’s/masters program. My savings amounts to around 1.5m¥, so let’s say enough to get me physically to Japan and into an apartment, but that’s about it (optimistically…) As such, a grant is highest priority for me after applying to a school. My goal (in the far-ish future) is to apply for a working visa to live in Japan long-term.

Is this the “correct” order to go about this? I can’t for the life of me seem to understand which order these things should be done in. It seems to be different for everybody, but surely there’s a generally recommended way to do it.

Any information about where to begin looking for schools or apartments, or the order in which any students or residents went about it themselves would be greatly appreciated as well! Thank you!
