I realized today that I have an extra day in my itinerary that I didn’t plan with, where would you add it? Don’t want to completely overthrow the plan, but I’m open to adding more cities or towns (altho I think it’s probably enough )
Kyoto with a daytrip e.g. to the big lake or to Kanazawa region (e.g. Shinhotaka ropeway daytrip?)
My current itinerary looks like this:
– day 1 Nikko > Nagano in the evening
– day 2 Nagano: zenkoji, snow monkey park
– day 3 Nagano to Matsumoto, evening to takayama
– day 4: takayama: old town, showa-kan museum, hida furukawa, sanmachi suji district , takazam festival floats exhibition hall , sakaurayama haxhimangu shrine, higashiyama walke, hida no Sato (just examples not definitive to-dos)
– day 5: takayama to shirakawago to Kanazawa
– day 6: Kanazawa (old town, omichi market, Nagamachi Samurai District, Geisha districts: Higashi Chaya-gai , Nichi chayagai, kenrokuen garden, Kazue Machi Chaya Tea district, gold leaf ice cream)
– day 7-9: drive to Hiroshima, 2 nights in miyajima
– day 10: via kurashiki ans Himeji daytrip to amanohashidate
– day 11: amanohashidate+ ine, to Kyoto in the evening
– day 12-16 Kyoto
– day 17 Nara
– day 18: via Mt Yoshino to koyasan
– day 19: koyasan, to Osaka
– day 20-22 Osaka. + Flight back
