I was watching [a documentary on the design elements in Blade Runner](https://youtu.be/Cj9hzidnWVI?si=WCh_nPOq2ZqC4pRq) and the designer of the neon signs pointed out this kanji(?) is used in neon signs in the background in various scenes.
However, this looks like no character in Japanese that I know. Given that it might be from a sketch of a Japanese kanji or Chinese character by someone who doesn’t know to write it correctly it could be garbage or badly mangled.
Can anyone see it? Or guess what it is?
