Anyone have advice on pitching classical music to Japanese artists/label?

To give some background, I’m part Japanese and speak the language fairly well, although I don’t really read or write it. I started writing music, mostly classical stuff and showed it to some Japanese relatives, who were pretty enthusiastic and told me it sounds very Japanese. Sort of studio Ghibli-esq soundtrack stuff is what I write the most. I feel like Japan is a better place for me to promote this kind of music than where I live (America), although I’m getting ready to shop it around here too, but don’t have a lot of ideas on how to introduce it to strangers in Japan when I have limited reading and writing skills. For example, are there contests that are open to foreigners, or maybe music schools? Do labels interact with foreigners, or maybe due to the language barrier I should hire an agent? Any advice would be great!

Also, I realize this isn’t strictly about moving, but Japanlife would probably ban me if I asked there and on the small chance it did well I’d consider moving out there.
