Thoughts on 3 weeks itinerary and help with Hakune and Fujikawaguchiko

Hi,

In about 2 months we’re going to Japan for the first time and would like to hear your thoughts on our plan. It is not yet fully fleshed out and I need some help. Below is a high-level plan.

**Days 1-7: Tokyo**

Day 1 – Shibuya and Shinjuku

Day 2 – Imperial Palace and Akihabara

Day 3 – Sensoji and Ueno

Day 4 – Koto, Ghibli Museum

Day 5 – Tokyo Tower, Zojoji Temple, teamLab Borderless

Day 6 – Day trip to Nikko

Day 7 – Disneyland or somey trip to somewhere, we will see

**Days 8-9 – Hakone and Fujikawaguchiko (Mt. Fuji)**

This is where I am at a loss. Not sure how to do it, as it seems like a hassle in terms of time to get from Hakone to Fujikawaguchiko. Hakone is definitely something we plan to visit. Fujikawaguchiko seems like a nice place to stay for a day, book a nice place, and enjoy a more relaxing day. Would it make more sense to go to Hakone on 8th day, stay overnight and in the morning got to Fujikawaguchiko, or vice versa or just to Hakone as a one-day trip from Tokyo and back?

**Days 10 – 14: Kyoto**

We plan to spend two full days in Kyoto, and two going on some nearby one-day trips. It seems quite tricky to get from Hakone or Fujikawaguchiko to Kyoto, so that’s one more reason why I’m not sure how to handle days 8 and 9.

**Days 15 – 16: Hiroshima**

**Day 17: Miyajima**

Should we instead combine Hiroshima and Miyajima into 2 days and instead spend one more day in Osaka?

**Days 18 – 21: Osaka and Kobe**

Our flight back is from Osaka, so that’s why we are ending our trip there.
