My partner and I are travelling to Japan for the first time this summer.
We’ll be in Tokyo for 7 nights for the first part of our trip and then 1 day before we leave.
Any suggestions on what area to stay in or specific hotels to stay in based on what we’ll be doing?
It’s also important that we’re near places with food options for vegetarians (no fish).
Our hotel budget for Tokyo is max 16600Â¥/day.
This is what our days in Tokyo will look like:
Day 0 – Arrive just after midnight. Get settled in accomodations or stay at a love hotel.
Day 1 – Shibuya Crossing, People watch and enjoy the fashion of Harajuku, Yoyogi Park & Meji Shrine, Shinjuku (Samurai Museum & Golden Gai)
Day 2 – Asakusa – Ueno, National Museum Senso-ji
Day 3 – Nikko Day Trip – Edo Wonderland, Shinjuku – Piss Alley
Day 4 – Akihabara (Maid Cafes), theatre, niche museums, Shinjuku LGBTQ+ Bars
Day 5 – Mt. Fuji Viewing Day trip to Kawaguchiko or to a nearby hike
Day 6 – Sumidagawa Hanabi Matsuri, karaoke
Day 19 – Shopping (Don Quixote, manga, MUJI, Uniqlo, Ghibli Stores)
