So more or less, my hope is to teach English in Japan, ideally starting in the Fall of 2024, since I currently have a fellowship that ends in mid August 2024.
I do not have prior English teaching experience/certifications, but have a bachelors in Environmental Science and a decent amount of experience working with students. I am also half Japanese but have very limited Japanese language experience, so not sure if that would help much.
I know most people say that the JET program is considered the best but based on my timeline restrictions it likely isn’t possible for me. I have looked a bit into Interac, Nova and some others but have seen some disheartening reviews and would also prefer to be in a larger city or have some say in where I’d end up.
Any advice or other ideas would be greatly appreciated!
