Title.
I’m currently a post-MBA consultant in one of the MBB firms in Europe (McKinsey, BCG, Bain) looking into either
1. Internally transferring offices to Tokyo or
2. Finding a corporate exit role in Japan.
In case that option 1 does not pan out, I would have to jobhunt to find a suitable role in Japan, most likely senior analyst / manager level, preferably in a gaishikei.
* What would be the best way to go about this? I’ve understood that recruiting agencies are quite common in Japan – would these be helpful and relevant in my case?
* My Japanese is around N3 level & I am actively studying for N2/N1 as much as time allows, so not bilingual or business level yet
* My current salary is around 120-140K in Euros, translating to 16-20M JPY (I realize JPY is quite weak right now, so most likely taking a significant pay cut here even if I just transfer offices)
* For what its worth, my MBA is from INSEAD and I did a 1 year study abroad at 東大
* If recruiting agencies are not the way to go, would my best bet be just to browse LinkedIn and job boards?
Thanks for the help guys!
