I’m heading to Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka in April and I *think* I have most of my itinerary completed except for Osaka. We’ll be doing 3 days in Tokyo, 2 days in Kyoto, and 4 days in Osaka. I’ve done a fair amount of research for Tokyo and have contained each day within a “zone” where activities are fairly close to each other. We’re arriving in Haneda at 7PM so I’m not going to count that as day 1. Also, we’re staying at an Airbnb near Kameido Station.
Day 1: Tokyo –
Tsukiji market
(Odaiba – I really want to go to see the Unicorn gundam, but not sure if it’s worth adding to this day)
Ginza
Teamlabs Borderless
Roppongi
Day 2: Tokyo –
Asakusa (Sensoji Temple)
Sky Tree? Since it’s within walking distance
Akihabara
Shinjuku
Day 3: Tokyo –
Shibuya (specific restaurant for lunch, then Starbucks Reserve)
Harajuku
Omote-Sando
Back to Shibuya for Shibuya Sky
Day 4: Kyoto –
Luggage transfer from Tokyo to Osaka
Tokyo Station (we’re planning to be in Kyoto by ~1pm)
Nishiki market
Exploring the area
Pontocho
Day 5: Kyoto –
Arashiyama (including temples within the area)
Gion
Ninenzaka street
Kiyomizu-dera
More exploring the area
Day 6: Kyoto, Nara, Osaka –
Fushimi Inari early in the morning ~7AM
Check out of hotel
Uji for a couple hours
Nara for 3-4 hours
Osaka in the evening to our Airbnb
Day 7: Osaka –
Dotonburi
Shinsaibashi-suji
Kuromon Market
Denden street
Day 8: Osaka –
Osaka Castle
Teamlabs Botanical Gardens
Costco (lol)
More Dotonburi
So, Day 9 and Day 10 are 2 full days in Osaka where I still don’t have anything planned. We leave from Kansai airport on the 11th day. Is there anything else I can add around Osaka area? I was thinking Katsuo-ji, but not that’s not finalized. Should we take day trip to Kobe? Hiroshima? Is Fukuoka day trip unrealistic?
Any advice would be helpful. TIA!
