So this reddit post that I am making is about applying for undergraduate programs in Japan. I am aiming for top schools and Japan is a good choice for me as it is financially possible for me to afford it. I am currently doing my IGCSE’s and I do have decent grades (8A\* & 4A). I am conflicted on the choices that I should make, I have a choice to do A Levels while preparing for my JLPT exams or I can take a Japan preparation school for 20 months. There is just one slight problem and that i that the Japan preparation school (from what I can tell) has not gotten much students or any at all if I am right into top universities such as UTokyo or Kyoto University (My main target). I feel that Alevels would allow me to have more choices but I am worried that Alevels are not accepted in UTokyo, University of Kyoto and etc. Furthermore, Alevels only prepare me for Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science and hence I do not think that I will be able to take the EJU exam that most universities require. So I am looking for some suggestions and confirmation on the acceptability of ALevels in Japanese Universities. My life is at an absolute standstill right now.
