Real excited for this one. It tastes as if wasabi had a baby with a daikon. The spiciness is much milder and a bit grassy. The nose burning is barely there and dissipates quickly. Looking forward to using it more often.
Yup, wasabi in the States is horseradish based (iirc), but damn if I don’t still like the taste and burning lol
This would be a good video if the notes lasted longer than one second.
yeah when in Japan i was amazed that i loved the wasabi. i don’t touch the stuff here
I am fortunate. I love both. I can be happy served with either. I’m sad when I get neither, though.
Does anybody know where to get for a decent price in central Florida?
I have a sharkskin wasabi grater from a friend (who was visiting from Japan), such a difference between the powder/paste and the real root! I use it for ginger sometimes too.
My local sushi place’s wasabi is more clumped but also kinda looks like dried out play dough from time to time. It stings like hell for 5 seconds and then is fine. What do you think that is?

Real wasabi is also ridiculously expensive
