Received this reply for medication import approval

I needed to wait until quite close to traveling as my dosage changed to apply for import of vyvanse and explained why I had to wait, only to receive this reply. I’ve replied and asked them to reconsider.

They have said:

Hello,

Thank you for contacting us.
But, I’m very sorry.
We are receiving many application now.
So we have no more time, we cannot handle your application.

Thank you for your assistance and understanding.
Best,

Has anyone else had this happen? I’m only taking a 12 day supply and not really sure what to do now. All the information is conflicting when it comes to a less than 30 days supply.

I don’t want to risk it but at the same time, I can’t just not take it at the moment! :/

  1. Don’t risk it. I’m sure you have seen what has happened to people carrying similar medications. Not worth it.

  2. Definitely do not bring it! The under 30 day rule is for some other people things, I believe for vitamins, other supplements etc. That really sucks though. I also am bringing 12 days worth of Vyvanse. I sent an application 2 weeks ago but received an email saying I needed to update some documents. Everything was updated 6 days before my trip and still got the approval!

    Have fun in Japan!

  3. Unfortunately you have to make these requests a long time before your departure. I sent mine 5 months in advance and it was fine. The sheer amount of tourists traveling to Japan rn makes it impossible for them to analyze requests that come in short.

  4. I didnt even know this was a thing before going- I brought 16 days of Vyvanse in April 2023 and my husband brought the same amount of Adderrall. Obviously it could be a risk but just fyi, no one looked at my meds in my pillbox ?

  5. Maybe I ask how close to your travel date you applied? I will be applying early next after my next appointment and will have just under three weeks.

  6. Oh this is a good reminder for me. I just did two weeks in south Korea without my needs because I applied with 8 business days and they said they needed 10… I’ve got a two to osaks at the end of may. I should just do it now.
