Help – is there ANY way we still can get Alpine Route tickets / regional JR pass?
We are travelling to Japan in April and would like to do the Alpine Route in its first week of opening. Although we thought we had it figured out, we cannot manage to arrange this and we are very stressed out:
– We thought the regional JR Alpine-Takayama-Matsumoto pass would be for sale starting today but when we try to buy it from JR West website we keep getting error messages at different devices (An error occurred during processing. An error occurred. Please start over from the beginning. We apologize for the inconvenience.[00604069]).
– Klook says that this JR pass is unavailable.
– We wree too late for the advance web tickets from the Alpine Route with all times already fully booked.
For reference our itinerary:
Apr 14 hoping to pick op JR Pass at Tokyo Office
Apr 15 Tokyo-Nagoya (Nozomi), Nagoya-Magome with JR Pass and local bus, walk to Tsumago, overnight at Magomechaya
Apr 16 Travel to Matsumoto (station hotel), visit Matsumoto City Museum of Art and/or Castle, early night
Apr 17 Travel to Shinanoomachi with first train from Matsumoto, Alpine Route, continue towards Kanazawa from Toyama side
Apr 18-19 Kanazawa
Please help us out! How can we resolve this problem? Is there any way we will see this mountain?
