It’s a real joy travelling around Japan collecting the eki stamps (駅スタンプ)

We’ve just started our journey and we’ve collected three so far. Whenever we’ve asked about them at the stations the staff have been enthusiastic and helpful (one evening gave us a zero yen ticket to explore the metro and get back out without needing to ride the metro).

We’ve had a great time collecting these so far 😁

  1. I had so much fun doing this on my last trip! Not just stations, I found a lot at attractions and stores too (Tokyo Tower and Kiddyland for example). A great free souvenir! Next time I might start collecting the shrine ones.

  2. I love them! I have an eki stamp notebook for each of my past five or six trips to Japan.

  3. I’m so glad I brought a notepad when I was there! Had so much fun finding the stamps and collecting them! Not just at the train stations but other places too, like the zoo

  4. I’ve heard about those from shrines by people who visit shrines to record their attendance. But this is new to me. How similar are these?

  5. Nice. I’m up to my third book, but I’ve still not found one at a Tokyo Metro station anywhere.

The Yamanote Line updated all their stamps at some point between my 2019 trip and my 2023 trip, so now I’m gonna have to go collect those again…

  6. Damn wish I knew this the 3 times I’ve been to Japan, this is so cool! Enjoy your trip!
