Hi, I’m from Australia and I’m currently in my final year of university, expecting to graduate by the end of the year. For family reasons, I am trying to find work in Japan as a mechatronics/robotics engineer for once I graduate. I’ve studied as an exchange student there for 1 year previously, and just got back from a 4 month working holiday. My Japanese skills are basic conversational level, but I don’t expect to be able to use Japanese in a workplace environment. I should be able to get just under a year of part-time engineering experience, while studying this year.
I’ve spoken briefly with a career advisor at my university, and they suggested getting professional experience for a semester, with a company that has branches in both Australia and Japan, and then transferring. I’ve spoken to 2 companies at a work expo at my university recently, however they are yet to reply to my follow up email.
Even if its difficult, I won’t stop trying. Just looking for advice for websites/companies/plans/etc that could help me find work there.
Kind regards and thank you in advance!
