I (18f) am planning on doing a summer internship program in Japan or elsewhere abroad. My advisor for the program will be working with me to secure the position, but I am more so worried about not enjoying it because of my weight and my skin tone.
I am a little chubby and I’m southeast Asian, so I have a more tanner, darker skin tone than a lot of east Asians and fellow southeast Asians.
I already know that it’s inevitable as a foreigner to stick out from the crowd, but I would appreciate any insight or advice about these topics to clarify what I may experience if I decide to work in Japan. Thank you so much!
