  1. They do charge a fee and it’s around 2%, you can also just use it as a debit card. That way, you can circumvent the fees. I made the mistake of constantly withdrawing and eating the 2%.

What I would do is just use it as a debit while you get your bank stuff and new debit card in order. Once they deliver your debit card, transfer all the money from your wise account into your new bank account for 200Â¥.

Feel free to DM me if you have any questions.

  2. They charge around 2% but it’s fine to pay with! Then they don’t charge. It’s a really good service, I’ve been using it since 2017 zero problems. Very useful when I arrived in Japan and I still use it from time to time if I need to make transfers. Much lower fees than the Japanese banks (like a couple hundred yen max versus upwards of like 20 GBP). Lmk if you have any other questions

  3. Pretty sure there is a limit of like two withdrawals of under $100 a month? Tbh I never used the card for this. Once you have a bank card there is little need.

I just use Wise as a debit card now for conbini’s and any place that will accept them. My prefecture is very card friendly. But its possible you can do more withdrawals than two, but there might be a percentage, like other’s have mentioned.

  4. First two transfers are free every month. I use it to send money to my home country, pay bills in my home country online and shop online (in Japan, the US and everywhere else tbh). I transfer money from my Japanese bank to keep money on the Wise card.
