Hello!
My name is Jonah and I’m an American police officer. I wanted to share a short but positive experience I had on my first trip to Tokyo back in February 2023. During my trip I wanted to visit a police station and see what my Japanese counterparts did. I found the Manseibashi Police Station while walking to Akihabara and decided to walk inside. At the counter I introduced myself as an American officer and met a motorcycle officer by the name of Masahiko. Officer Masahiko was very kind and gave me a quick tour of their station. We took a picture outside by their patrol cars and I gifted him with a patch from my police agency. In English he told me something similar to “this is a gift of great friendship.” I would have liked to get a Japanese police patch for my own collection but I’m not sure if he had any extra patches with him. Regardless, I had a great first trip that was made even better with this exchange. I’ll post the picture I took with Officer Masahiko. Hopefully someone on here knows him and is willing to send this picture to him.
Furthermore, if there are any Japanese police officers on this page, I’m still interested in trading patches and can mail one of mine to you in return for one of yours!
