I’m researching the Takayama portion of our trip and I’d really like to see Kamikochi at least once. We’ll be staying in Takayama during the Fall festival (arriving the day before the festival on Oct 8, and leaving the day after the festival on Oct 11). I’ve read how crowed the buses and trains get during the festival days. Any reason to think I could hop on a bus to Kamikochi in the morning one of those days and make it back to Takayama before the evening?
