I think I’ve decided on a car I want to buy, Suzuki Jimney, but I don’t know much about cars…

So I recently got my Japanese drivers license and I want to buy my first car in Japan. I’ve done some research and I found the Suzuki Jimney to be the car of my choice, but please may I hear your suggestions after I’ve given my reasons.

First and foremost, it needs to be a compact car, I do have a drive, but it’s small, definitely not for a sedan size car.

I like all safety features on the newest version, such as the emergency breaking help, lane assist and others.

I like the elevated height due to driving a Nissan Juke in my home country (my parents car).

My wife’s hometown is on the seaside of tohoku, so having four-wheel-drive would be nice if we go there for the winter.

We can put the back seats down, so we can take our cat in a cage to my wife’s hometown, if need be.

I won’t be using it a lot, so paying road tax would be a lot of money, therefore, a kei suits my needs due to reduce tax burden

If I do use it, I imagine it will be going to Home centres and IKEA so ideal for bringing stuff back. Also going to Gunma-ken, Shizuoka-ken, and other places about the same distance. I live central Tokyo.

These are my reasons why, can anyone suggest another type of car that might fit my needs? I thought about a Suzuki every, but maybe it’s impractical to go all the way to Tohoku.

Please may I have some advice from you all after reading this?

Thank you.
