HSP to PR Status points system question

In final rounds of interviewing for 2 western tech companies in Tokyo, both confirmed they are willing to sponsor HSP.

I’ve been looking around the rules for HSP holders having a streamlined roadmap to PR lately and been learning a bit more about the points system.

My situation: I have recently turned 29 and according to immigration points system, I have 80 points which iirc, qualifies me for PR application after 1 year of holding HSP status.

However, 1 year-ish from now I would be 30 which docks 5 immigration points that makes my total 75 and that would mean I need 3 years of HSP to qualify for PR instead if I read the rules correctly.

How does HSP to PR points actually work? do they care more about the points you hold when you achieve HSP or the points you have when applying for PR?

quick edit: fyi I do have both bachelors and masters degree alongside 5 years of FT tech work experience, so no worries about qualifying for visas here. Japanese level is low though but my positions dont require that
