I understand this is not an investment, and probably not a great idea, but I love Japan and would like to have a home there, even if I can’t live there full-time. I would hope to spend at least 3 months out of the year until I can figure out a way to live in Japan, but until then I would have a home base and a place to call my own. I would love to hear the ups and downs of owning a property in Japan as a ‘vacation home’ – I haven’t been able to find people who have done this. I’d love to hear about motivation and what it is like to manage the property from afar.
