Hey everyone!
I’m an American about to be fresh out of college, and after having visited Japan and studying abroad I’ve decided that I want to live in Japan. Since I’m new to even finding apartments, I’m not really sure where I should begin.
What websites are trustworthy for finding jobs and apartments? What type of housing/apartment should I be looking for? etc.

What kind of visa will you be under?
You should start with our wiki, particularly our [visa wiki](https://www.reddit.com/r/movingtojapan/wiki/visas).
Looking for housing before you’ve figured out your job/visa is a waste of time.
I would look into an ALT (assistant Language Teacher) position through LJCA or JET. I have had a personal experience with LJCA and it has been generally positive, and they will handle all the visa and housing arrangement for you. Only thing is that you wouldn’t be able to specify which city you would be placed…so if you want to live in a big city, the ALT route may not be very appealing.
