I’ve been living in Tokyo for 5 months and now looking to move to Osaka to do the other half of my working holiday.
I’ve just been to Osaka to visit some sharehouses in person, and I have a hard time making a choice.
Anyone has experience with (1)Kizunaya SHELF Himejima, (2)TESEN ZEZE Osaka, or (3)Ares鶴橋?
I plan to travel a lot around with Osaka as a base. I also want to experience what life is like in Osaka.
(1) Is near Himejima station, 15 min away from Tsukamoto station. The house itself is great, but the neighborhood seems very boring and not much around. Easy access to Umeda, but Namba is about 35min away.
(2) Is near Imafuku-tsurumi station, so a bit away with meh access to Namba and Umeda, and the area also seems boring but theres a mall nearby. There’s a small shoutengai at Gamo-4-chome 15min away but it’s not much. It’s also the most expensive room.
(3) Is between Tsuruhashi station and Tamatsukuri station, very easy access to Umeda and Namba, could even walk back from Namba if in dire need. The area looks very lively, with the korean market street nearby and access to a lot of things and restaurants. The house is less appealing though, it’s a tiny house surrounded by buildings so not a lot of light, and the common area is very small, not sure the people there socialise. It is more affordable than the other two though, 2万 difference with option 2.
Do you think I over/underestimate how good or boring these areas are? Are the 15 to 20min difference in public transport access to Umeda/Namba (and by extension, Kobe, Nara, Kyoto…) worth anything?
I’m really stumped, any ideas to help me make a choice would be great! Do you have any opinions on their respective location? (hows the neighbourhood)
Edit:
I’m also considering the Social Apartment in Esaka, seems like a good area with restaurants and quick midosuji line access for Namba and Umeda. Unfortunately they don’t respond to inquiries on wednesdays for some reason, I’m worried waiting another day might see some of my options get snatched up!
Edit: Actually Social Apartment is super expensive for less than 1 year, I’d rather spend the money on more traveling
